Rare Moon Displayed
MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS took advantage of the rare opportunity to capture the moon on Tuesday, September 17, and the Grant County Review’s proofreader, Chriscie Ballard was among them. Meteorologist explained that on Tuesday night, a rare trifecta would occur concurrently: a supermoon, partial lunar eclipse and harvest blood moon.
Internet sources stated that the combination will not be seen again until October 8, 2033. The supermoon made the moon look bigger and brighter. The partial lunar eclipse made it look like somebody took a bite out of the moon. And the harvest blood moon gave it a reddish color. The phenomenon became visible around 7:30 that evening and the image could be seen until around midnight.
