Twin Brooks Threshing Show Celebrates 40 Years of Fun

This year marks the 40th annual Twin Brooks Threshing Show slated for Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9. The show grounds are located five miles west and one and one-half miles south of Milbank.
This year’s featured tractor models will be International tractors. One feature will be a 2027 Minneapolis Moline. Additional tractors and exhibits will be on display both days. Parades will be on both Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.
A pork supper will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and food trucks are also available.
A tractor pull will take center stage on Saturday at 5 p.m. with registration at 4 p.m., for models built in 1959 and earlier. There will be two sled pulls featuring Outlaw and Hot Foot.
There is also a South Dakota Sanctioned kids pedal pull on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Throughout the two day event, spectators will be able to enjoy the flea market. Live demonstrations of horse farming, tractor, and steam plowing will entertain. A petting zoo, saw mill, antique combining, and hand corn shelling will also keep people busy.
There is to be a quilt show by the members of the Magic Needlers quilting group.
The official kitchen will be open all weekend with breakfasts served from 7 to 9 a.m. and other meals throughout the day.
A spark show will delight everyone scheduled for dusk, weather permitting.
The New Life Worship team will lead the Sunday worship service at 8:30 a.m.
There is a fee to attend, but children under 12 are admitted free. Golf cars can be taken on the grounds for an additional fee. Call Pam Nelson at 606-880-2884 for more information or refer to the ad inside this issue.
