NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BY THE DRAINAGE BOARD ON

PROPOSED DRAINAGE PERMITS

Notice is hereby given that Public Hearings will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 8 a.m. at the Grant County Courthouse to consider the following Drainage Permits. The requests, if granted, would control erosion.

Permit DR2026-23 for Adams West Township, 16557 480th Avenue, Revillo, SD, 57259, for a township road culvert replacement project located approximately two-tenths of a mile west of the intersection of 483rd Ave. on 163rd Street, between properties in the N1/2 of Section 23 and the SE1/4 of Section 14, both in Township 118, Range 48, and West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Grant County, South Dakota (Adams West Township). The culvert replacement project seeking the drainage permit is located within the South Branch of the Yellow Bank River Watershed.

Permit DR2026-24 for Paul Dummann, 45745 149th Street, Summit, SD, 57266, for property located within the SW1/4 of Section 32 in Township 121, Range 51, in the Former Sisseton Wahpeton Indian Reservation, West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Grant County, South Dakota (Farmington Township). The property seeking the drainage permit is located within the Big Sioux River Watershed.

Permit DR2026-25 for Adam Hunt, 48357 154th Street, Milbank, SD 57252, property located within the NE1/4 of Section 6 in Township 118, Range 48, West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Grant County, South Dakota (Adams West Township). The property seeking the drainage permit is located within South Branch of the Yellow Bank River Watershed.

Permit DR2026-26 for Tom Wollschlager, 47137 163rd Street, Strandburg, SD, 57265, for property located within the E1/2 NW1/4 of Section 13 in Township 118, Range 50, West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Grant County, South Dakota (Troy Township). The property seeking the drainage permit is located within the North Branch of the Yellow Bank River Watershed.

Permit DR2026-27 for Greg Steich, of 14654 485th Ave., Big Stone City, SD 57216, for lands located within the W1/2 of Section 30 of Township 121, Range 46, West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Grant County, South Dakota. (Big Stone Township). The property seeking the drainage permits are located within the Whetstone River Watershed.

During Drainage Board consideration certain restrictions and/or changes to the original drainage permit applications may be considered or conditioned. The individual Drainage Permits, if approved, would be good until December 31, 2028, where all work is required to be completed within that time.

All persons interested therein may appear and be heard before the Drainage Board at said hearing or may file written comments with the Planning & Zoning Officer, acting as Drainage Administrator, by 3 p.m., Friday, October 2, 210 E. 5th Ave., Milbank, SD 57252 prior to said hearing.
