Milbank Heroes Pull Puts Team Strength to the Test
Strength, teamwork and a little friendly competition will take center stage during the annual Heroes Pull in Milbank. The public is invited to cheer on local teams as they race against the clock to pull a fire truck 50 feet in the shortest amount of time.
The competition begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26, in the Milbank High School parking lot.
The event is open to 10 teams of 10 members each. Teams are responsible for raising $500 to participate, with proceeds benefiting the Milbank and South Dakota Special Olympics programs.
Six teams are currently registered to compete. They are LaBolt Elevator, the National Guard, Breske Insurance, First Bank & Trust, Otter Tail Power Plant and the Milbank Fire Department. First responder vehicles will also be on display throughout the event.
There is still time to join the competition. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to form a team or sponsor one already registered.
