Absentee Voting Opens for Friday for General Election
Residents of Grant County and Roberts County can join other voters across the state in voting by absentee ballot beginning on Friday, September 18. This window of opportunity is for the General Election ballot. The election will be Tuesday, November 3.
Absentee voting can be accomplished by registered voters at the auditor’s office in their county. Absentee voting closes on Monday, November 2, at 5 p.m. Office hours at the Grant County auditor’s office are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Those intending to vote must have a photo ID with them.
Voters who did not request an absentee ballot by mail for the Primary Election or Runoff Election, but would like to vote absentee in the General Election must submit an absentee ballot application to their county auditor by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 2. When completing the absentee ballot request form, voters should select General Election on the form. The application will need to be notarized OR the voter needs to submit a copy of their driver’s license with the application.
If returning the ballot by mail, the voter should return it as soon as possible to prevent any mail service delays. Alternately, ballots can be dropped off at the auditor’s office.
The deadline for voter registration is Monday, October 19.
