Roberts County 4-H Achievement Days Scheduled
Roberts County youth invite the public to attend the Roberts County 4-H Achievement Days, Monday through Wednesday, August 3 to 5, at the Roberts County 4-H Grounds in Sisseton. All events will take place at the 4-H grounds.
The excitement starts Monday with the style show run through beginning at noon. Club booth decorating will be from noon to 2 p.m. A meeting for the judges and helpers will start at 1:45 p.m. Static exhibit judging will occur from 2 to 6 p.m. The dog show will be at 4 p.m. in the west side of the west quonset.
Activities continue on Tuesday with the static exhibits open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Companion animal registration will start at 9 a.m. in the west quonset with the show beginning at 9:30 a.m. The rabbit show and registration will be at 11 a.m. in the west quonset. Registration for the poultry show will start at 1 p.m., followed by the show in the west quonset. Judging for the beef builder poster contest will be at 5 p.m. in the west quonset. The beef builder market show will be at 6 p.m., followed by the beef builder calf show.
Events conclude on Wednesday. Livestock weigh-ins will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m., starting with swine. The livestock show starts at 10 a.m. with swine first followed by sheep, meat goat, beef, dairy, and the round robin. Static exhibits will also be open for viewing at 10 a.m. The 4-H barbecue will be from 5 to 7 p.m. serving a pork sandwich, beans, coleslaw, chips, ice cream and beverage. Carry-out options are available. The style show follows the barbecue at 7 p.m. and the livestock premium sale is at 7:30 p.m. in the show ring. Clubs will take down their booths at 8 p.m. with a 4-H after party for club members and their families from 8 to 11 p.m.
