Rubble Site Hours Extended for Shape Up Milbank Days
Milbank City officials have set extended hours at the rubble site to aid residents in cleaning up the community during the annual Shape Up Milbank Days.
Extended hours begin on Friday, May 2, when the rubble site opens at 1 p.m. and will close at 6 p.m. The last day of extended hours will be Saturday, May 10, when the site opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m.
To benefit from the free disposal of items, the patron must show a current City of Milbank utility bill or other proof of Milbank residency.
Acceptable residential waste may be deposited free of charge for city residents during the spring extended hours. Types of refuse that may be delivered to the site include trees, yard and garden waste, residential and construction demolition debris, carpet, chairs, couches, mattresses, linoleum and glass.
White goods and electronics may be deposited for a $10 fee per item.
Certain items will not be accepted. They include hazardous waste, herbicide and pesticide containers, asbestos, household garbage, liquid waste, treated wood, cardboard, plastic, styrofoam, tires and batteries.
