Area Local Government Boards Announce Current Vacancies

 

Three Vacancies Announced on Milbank Council
 
Officials with the Municipality of Milbank announced that three four-year terms on the Milbank City Council will become vacant because of the expiration of the terms currently held by Roger Briggs, Ward One; Mindy Rogers, Ward Two, and Michael Hanson, Ward Three.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on Tuesday, April 8. Those filing petitions must do so before May 9 at 5 p.m.

Wilmot School Board Vacancies Announced
 
Residents of the Wilmot School District Number 54-7 will have the opportunity to run for three openings on the school board.
The positions will become vacant because of the expiration the terms currently held by Trent Ammann, Phillip Amman and Heidi Pelzel. All positions will be for terms of three years.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on Tuesday, April  8. Petitions must be filed in the school’s business office by May 9 at 5 p.m.

City of Wilmot 
Announces Board,
Mayor Vacancies
 
Officials with the Municipality of Wilmot announced this week that positions of mayor and six alderman seats will be vacant as the result of the expiration of present terms or resignations of the person currently holding the offices.
One alderman position has been vacant for several months. Current aldermen are Roger Butler, Jack Hansen, Devon Wenck, Clayton Winge and Zachery Zempel. The mayor is Ryan Frerichs.
The position openings will be a one-year term for mayor; three one-year alderman terms, one in each ward, and three two-year alderman terms, one in each ward.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on Tuesday, April 8. Petitions may be filed in the office of the finance officer at 725 Main Street in Wilmot by Friday, May 9, at 5 p.m.

Twin Brooks Vacancy
 
Officials with the Municipality of Twin Brooks announced that one three-year term for a trustee position is available. Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on April 8 and petitions may be filed with the finance officer by mail to P.O. Box 38, Twin Brooks, South Dakota, 57269. Postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025. More details are in the official announcement in the legal notices section of this issue.
