New BOOST Program Gives Parent Support Outreach

New BOOST Program Gives Parent Support Outreach

Parents in the Milbank area should be aware of a new program that can provide support.

The Building Opportunities with Optimal Supports and Teach (BOOST) parent support outreach program focuses on a family’s strengths and needs, and helps parents who want to do what is best for their children.

The program can connect families with community resources that provide the specific kind of help families may want or need. Participation is voluntary. Getting help to meet the family’s needs, even for a short period of time, can make a difference. This program was created and founded by the Building Our Families organization.

The program, launched in January of this year, is a local early-intervention program that provides short-term voluntary support for at-risk children and families identified
through screened out child mistreatment reports, community in self-referrals.

The voluntary services program can connect an individual to support and assistance for many types of issues. The program offers assistance with basic needs, family health concerns especially medical care and mental and chemical health services. The program provides help with parenting, transportation, childcare, financial support and overall support.

Claire Frazee, the outreach case manager, meets one on one with families to determine what and how to meet the needs. To sign up email, buildingourfamilies gc@gmail.com.
