Motorists to Stay Alert
As workers with Otter Tail Power Company begin the process of updating power lines in Grant County, company officials ask motorists to stay alert and improve safety in the work zones.
With spring weather and summer on the horizon, Otter Tail Power Company is approaching peak construction on transmission line work in the Milbank area. During the next several weeks, the company will upgrade existing infrastructure to continue providing its customers with reliable, low-cost electricity.
Otter Tail Power officials encourage travelers to use extra caution along the high-traffic area of US Highway 12 between Milbank and Big Stone City. They advise drivers to allocate additional time to reach their destinations, slow down, limit distractions and allow extra space between vehicles.
“Simple distractions, such as adjusting the temperature or radio, eating and drinking, or using a handheld device, can take your attention off the road and lead to an accident,” said Eric Hamm, Otter Tail Power safety services manager. “Please give yourself extra time and use caution while traveling through the Milbank area and all other work zones to help keep yourself and others safe.”
