Public Invited to Cinco de Mayo 2024

The Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce invites all residents, regardless of background, to join the activities at Lake Farley Park on Saturday, May 4, to celebrate the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. The event will be from 2 to 8 p.m.

This celebration to honors the Battle of Puebla as well as Mexican culture. In the United States, people attend parades with colorfully dressed dancers, listen to lively Mexican folk music, called mariachi, and eat traditional foods such as guacamole.

Whether you’re a fan of inflatables, kid’s games, pinatas, craft vendors and food trucks or prefer a more adult setting like the beer garden, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta promises a day filled with excitement and fun.

This year, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is giving away seven bikes and two scooters. Every attendee will receive one entry, and they can also win a basketball, football or soccer ball.

Enjoy the lively performances of a mariachi band, a DJ and a Mexican folk dance group. “We’re excited for an even bigger and better Cinco de Mayo. We have many new and returning vendors and are excited to bring back the Mexican folk dance group Raíces De Mi Tierra. Join us for a full day of great food, music, dancing, and games!” said Jamie Henderson, Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce executive director.
