Free Genealogy Workshop Slated at County Library

Free Genealogy Workshop
Slated at County Library
The Grant County Public Library in Milbank will host a free genealogy workshop on Thursday, April 18, at 2 p.m.
The public is invited to participate in the program entitled, A Beginner’s Guide to Identifying Old Photos, presented by Virginia Hanson from the South Dakota Archives.
According to Tammy Wollschlager, library director, many area residents have inherited old family photos and are unable to identify either where the photos were taken or who is in the photo. In the workshop, Hanson, an expert on archiving, will share her knowledge on how to find clues to answer the questions and create a treasured photo from one identifiable.
Hanson has been to the library many times, leading different educational topics in the area of archiving local and family history. The genealogy workshop is a perfect opportunity for those who have been gathering family information for years, or for those just beginning their search, Woll-schlager indicated. The public is invited to have their photos and questions with them at the workshop.
Registration is appreciated and can be done by calling the library at 432-6543.
