City of Milbank
Milbank residents are reminded that watering restrictions are in place and encouraged to heed them during the upcoming hot weather.
Extreme heat is forecast for the Milbank area this week. Temperatures are are projected to reach 97 degrees on Wednesday, July 26, 94 degrees on Thursday, July 27 and 87 degrees on Friday, July 28.
City officials emphasize that ascribing to the regulations is critical, as the city’s 1.5 million gallon water storage tank is currently down for repairs and painting.
Even numbered addresses are asked to water only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. No watering is permitted on Mondays.
Gardens may be hand watered at any time.
According to officials, watering between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. is best for water conservation and efficiency. They note that, in an effort to lead by example, all city watering of ballfields and parks is done between the specified hours.
