Exhibit Work in Aberdeen
Milbank High School students competed in the Dakota Student Art Exhibition on Thursday, April 20. The exhibition was conducted at the Dacotah Prairie Museum in Aberdeen.
Student artists included Amelia Pederson, Arianna Butler, Kadence Rauch-Frank, Sophia Gastineau, Katie Kruger, Nadia Thue and Camryn Weise.
Junior Amelia Pederson, junior Sophia Gastineau and senior Camryn Weise entered work in the drawing category. During awards, Pederson placed second in the category.
Sophomore Katie Krueger and junior Nadia Thue entered work in 3D art.
Junior Kadence Rauch-Frank entered work in 2D mixed media.
Arianna Butler also attended as a workshop participant.
Throughout the day, students participated in workshops about polymer clay, acrylic pouring and composition in photography. Students also had the opportunity to talk with judges about their artwork and receive feedback.
The exhibition is an annual competition for South Dakota and North Dakota high school students. It began in 1996. More than 150 students from almost 20 schools participate every year.
Students were accompanied by their instructor Ashley Plummer.
