City of Big Stone City Council Proceedings - December 29, 2022

5:30  p.m.

The Big Stone City council met for the special year-end session on Thursday, December 29, 2022, meeting began at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Athey presiding. Roll Call: Roscoe, Stoddard, Rabe, Brown, and Redfield. Others present – Nancy Lee

The Pledge of Allegiance and the South Dakota State Pledge were recited.

Motion to approve the minutes from December 3, 2022, Regular meeting was made by Roscoe and seconded by Redfield. All in favor. Motion carried.

Discussion was held on the RDS claim submitted for payment and Redfield made a motion to not pay the claim until the system is up and running properly. Stoddard seconded the motion. Upon roll call. Ayes: Brown, Roscoe, Redfield, Rabe, and Stoddard. Nayes: None.  Motion Carried.

Discussion was held regarding the claims submitted for the Big Stone City Fire Department. Rabe made a motion to table until the January 3, 2023, meeting for better clarification from the Big Stone City Fire Department and Redfield seconded the motion. Upon roll call. Ayes: Roscoe, Brown, Rabe, Stoddard, and Redfield. Nayes: None. Motion Carried.

Motion to pay the presented claims was made by Brown and seconded by Rabe. All in favor. Motion Carried.

A brief discussion was held regarding 2023 wages and Rabe made a motion to table until January 3, 2023, council meeting Redfield seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion Carried.

Motion by Rabe and seconded by Roscoe to enter executive session at 5:48 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. 

Motion by Stoddard at 6:17 to come out of executive session and seconded by Redfield. All in favor. Motion Carried.

No further business was discussed, and Stoddard made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 p.m. Redfield seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion Carried.
