Watercraft Buoyancy Testing Offered Free
 
The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks has coordinated free watercraft buoyancy testing events for area residents on Saturday, September 19. Two options are available: Dave’s Marine in Webster at 10 a.m. or Doug’s Anchor Marine in Watertown at 1 p.m. 
Items needed to be weighed to complete the buoyancy test include persons to be present during hunting outings, all gear the hunters would wear during the excursions, guns, ammunition, dogs, outboard attached or unattached, safety equipment, and smaller items like blinds, chairs, oars and fuel. 
Those who intend to participate in the free testing must contact Blake Swanson, wildlife conservation officer, before Friday, September 18, to register and get further instruction. He can be reached at 605.881.3779 or  blake.swanson@state.sd.us.
