Transportation Now Available for
VA Appointments
The Grant County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) van is now available to provide free transportation to veterans with Veterans Affairs (VA) approved medical appointments in Watertown and Sioux Falls.
The Watertown Veteran Transportation System (VTS) began use in Grant County on Friday, November 1. VTS is able to provide transportation for ambulatory and non-ambulatory veterans. The Grant County DAV van is not able to transport handicapped individuals.
To schedule a ride, officials recommend that veterans call VTS at 605-977-4400 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holiday hours. Rides must be scheduled three business days in advance and cancellations made one day in advance. If there is no availability, veterans can call the Grant County DAV van coordinator at 605-467-0141. If neither of those options are available, veterans are suggested to call Milbank Community Transit at 605-432-4866. Milbank Community Transit is able to transport handicap- ped individuals. Make sure to mention it is a ride for a veteran appointment.
