Local resident Tim Graf received the Rollie Greeno Award from the University of Jamestown North Dakota during the university’s 100th homecoming celebration.
The Rollie Greeno Award is awarded for outstanding commitment in the field of education and coaching to honor individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to youth through their careers in the education and/or coaching professions.
Graf’s teaching and coaching career spans 37 years as he filled roles as a teacher, coach, principal, athletic director, and superintendent across South Dakota and North Dakota. He has been honored with basketball coach of the year, athletic director of the year, South Dakota superintendent of the year while in Milbank, South Dakota school administrator of the year, and North Dakota region high school principal of the year.
Graf was nominated by Scott Peterson, his friend of 45 years. According to Peterson, Graf personifies the goal of the Rollie Greeno Award, which recognizes excellence and dedication to the education of children. He is a true example of excellence, compassion, and dedication to all aspects of education.
Graf retired from the Harrisburg School District earlier this year and currently resides in Wilmot with his wife, Jean.
