Public Can Honor Loved Ones
in Upcoming Luminary Event

The core committee of the It Only Takes a Spark organization is planning a luminary event on Friday, July 24, from 5 p.m. to midnight, at a location that has not yet been announced.
Because the COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancelation of the traditional cancer walk in Milbank, the core committee has been busy planning other events and activities to help raise the money needed to help Grant County families who are impacted by cancer. One of those activities is the luminary event.
Members of the nine cancer walk teams have been limited in their ability to get out and sell luminaries, so the core committee has streamlined the process by publishing a luminary order form inside this issue of The Grant County Review.
As in other years, anyone can purchase as many luminaries as they would like, at $5 each. They may be purchased in honor of persons who are still fighting cancer or in memory of loved ones who have died, but had cancer.
Money from the sale of the luminaries will go into the general fundraising for this year’s total, but those purchasing can designate on the form which cancer walk team will get credit for the sale.
On July 24, the luminaries will be displayed in a public location so people can drive through and observe them.
Orders can be mailed to It Only Takes a Spark, P.O. Box 105, Milbank, SD 57252.
