Public Back to School Bash Planned by Boys & Girls Club
Representatives of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains (BGCNP) and the Milbank School District are inviting families to kick off the new school year at a Back-to-School Parking Lot Bash on Monday, August 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Milbank Elementary School.
The community celebration will mark the opening of the new Boys & Girls Club of Milbank, which officially begins serving local youth on Tuesday, August 18, coinciding with the first day of the school year. Opened in partnership with the Milbank School District, the club will help expand existing out-of-school hours programming, providing even more opportunities for high quality, affordable care for local children and families.
Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy an afternoon of free activities, including bounce houses, cotton candy, hot dogs, and other family-friendly entertainment. The event is designed to bring the community together while celebrating expanded opportunities for youth in Milbank.
The new Boys & Girls Club of Milbank will serve students from junior kindergarten through fifth grade afterschool until 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The club will provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can access quality youth development programming, build positive relationships with caring adults and participate in enriching activities during out-of-school hours.
To ensure the club's long-term success and integration within the community, BGCNP is partnering directly with the Milbank School District and local business leaders committed to investing in the future of Milbank's youth.
