Piano Festival to Feature Pam Neugebauer as Guest
The 34th annual Piano Festival, sponsored by the Milbank area piano teachers, will be on Sunday, February 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the Milbank High School Theater. There is no charge for spectators. The festival is designed to showcase and encourage the talents of the area musicians in their studies.
This year’s guest artist is Pam Neugebauer, who is the daughter of Curt and Donna Longhenry and grew up in Nassau, MN. She started piano lessons in the second grade, continuing all through high school and college and practicing flute and piccolo in her schools bands. She sang in her high school and college choirs along with the Agape Singers, a traveling music ministry.
Neugebauer served as a music director for her college’s campus ministry programs at the University of South Dakota and the College of St. Catherine. She stays active in her music playing piano and organ at the American Lutheran Church, participating in the church and bell choir, leading Sunday School music, and accompanying the solos for the Milbank junior and senior high band contests.
Neugebauer and her husband Justin, live in Milbank with their three children: Ellie, a sophomore at North Dakota State University; Anna, a junior at Milbank High School, and Emily, a seventh grader at Milbank Middle School. Pam is also a physical therapist and director of therapies at Big Stone Therapies.
Pam Neugebauer will be playing Rustles of Spring by Christian Sinding and Wonders of Love by Handel and arrangement by J.B. Taylor at the upcoming festival.
Students that are also scheduled to play in the festival are Isabella Karels, Savannah Berg, Gareth Rausch, Makenzie Stahl, Dezi Stahl, Hadassah Kauffman, Lincoln Kiley, Adelyn Cordingly, Maddie Dashiell, Kami Dashiell, Ellie Trapp, Landon Athey, Ian Radermacher, Bella Radermacher, Evelyn Biel and Caroline Arlt.
The teachers performing with the students in the recital are Shelia Dailie, Deb Rausch and Renae Wollschlager.
