ORDINANCE NO. 2021-08
AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, an ordinance to provide an application fee permitting small power production and co-generation facilities and provide a fee for interconnection (Distributed Generation)
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Big Stone City, South Dakota, that the Municipal Code for the City of Big Stone City be amended to provide for Distributed Generation.
A.  The Public Utilities Regulatory Policy Act of 1978 (PURPA), as amended, requires a utility to buy power and sell power to Qualifying Facilities.  The City of Big Stone City is required to adopt policies for permitting small power production and co-generation facilities.
B.  The City of Big Stone City is authorized to set a fee for the application and for the interconnection between the City Electrical System and Distributed Generation facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED
C.  The City Council of Big Stone City hereby establishes an application fee of $100.00, to be collected upon initial application for a distributed generation interconnection. 
D.  The City Council of Big Stone City hereby sets the distributed generation interconnection fee at $700.00.  Such fee shall be collected before connection can be made with the city’s Electrical System.
The effective date of the above listed fees is October 1, 2021.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar as the conflicting portions thereof are concerned.
