NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PETITION FOR VACATION OF ROAD
Notice is given that on the second day of October 2026 a petition was received by the Board of Supervisors of Lockwood Township requesting the vacation of the platted road described as:
The platted road between Parcel #7655 described as the East 219.2’ of Lot A, Strege Subdivision of Big Stone Lake, Government Lots three and four of Section 32, Township 122N, Range 47 West of the 5th P.m., Roberts County, South Dakota, and Parcel 11705 described as Roger’s Addition in Section 23, Township 122N, Range 57 West of the 5th P.m., Roberts County, South Dakota. It is platted as a 40’ wide public road between these two parcels;
And alleging that the vacation of said section line right of way will better serve the public convenience,
The Board of Supervisors of Lockwood Township will meet on Tuesday, the 27th day of October, 2026, to hold a public hearing on said petition, commencing at 7 p.m., at 13896 Eagle View Lake Rd., Big Stone City, Roberts County, South Dakota.
Any persons having an interest in this matter may attend the hearing and present testimony or information on the matter. Any persons unable to attend the hearing may send written information, opinions, and/or arguments to the Board of Lockwood Township Supervisors, C/O Marilyn Hanson, Lockwood Township Clerk, 13896 Eagle View Lake Rd, Big Stone City, South Dakota 57216.
