No Roberts County Races on Republican Primary Ballot
Roberts County registered Republicans will not have any local races on their Primary Election ballot when the cast their votes on Tuesday, June 2, but they will still have a variety of contests in which to vote. There is no Primary Election for Democrats in Roberts County.
Some portions of Roberts County are within Legislative District 1, while others are in District 4. Which side of the line the voter’s address is located will determine which set of candidates they have.
Those voters who are in District 4 will have the chance to vote for two of five candidates for South Dakota House of Representative for District 4. The candidates are incumbents Dylan C. Jordan and Kent Roe. Challengers are Gary William Hudiburgh III, Ryan Kohl, and Fred Deutsch. The top two vote-getters will go up against candidates from other parties in the General Election in November.
In the race for a seat in the South Dakota Senate representing District 4, are incumbent Stephanie Sauder and challenger Timothy Begalka. The Republican voters may cast a ballot for one.
Roberts County Republicans who are in District 1 will be able to vote for two of four candidates for South Dakota House of Representative for District 1. They are incumbents Logan Manhart and Nick Fosness and challengers Keith Miller and Daniel Kjos.
Additionally, they will have the statewide candidates for several offices. They are Justin McNeal or Mike Rounds for US Senator and Marty Jackley and James Bialota for US House of Representatives.
Republicans from across the state will determine by their votes whether Governor Larry Rhoden, or one of the challengers, Jon Hansen, Dusty Johnson, or Toby Doeden, will advance to the General Election in November.
