Multiple Area Veterans Day Programs Slated for Monday

 

 

 

 

 

There will be a Veterans Day program at the Big Stone City School on Monday, November 11, at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the event in the school gymnasium. 
 
The sixth grade class will lead the program with singing from the rest of the school. Member of the Gertje-Van Lith American Legion Post 229 of Big Stone City will provide the presentation and retiring of the colors.  
 
“We invite everyone in the community to attend and help us say ‘Thank you’ to our veterans for all they have done and are doing to keep us safe,” commented Amy Adelman, teacher.
 
 
 
Local veterans will be honored in the annual Veterans Day program at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11, in the Milbank National Guard Armory. The public is invited to attend. 
 
The featured speaker will be Greg Milbrandt, retired first sergeant of the 740th Transportation Company. Bill Voeltz will perform the invocation. 
 
The Milbank High School band will perform several musical selections. Senior trumpet players playing Taps will be Bryan Meyer, Claire Snaza, Gemma Street and Howie Zemlicka. 
 
Veterans organizations participating in the posting of the colors are American Legion Post #9 Color Guard, VFW Post #3486 Color Guard and Firing Squad, VFW Auxiliary Color Guard, Legion Auxiliary President and Color Guard, Sons of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 and 740th Transportation Color Guard. 
 
 
The Wilmot School will conduct a Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11, at 9 a.m. in the school gymnasium. The public is invited to attend.
 
The featured speaker will be Pastor Kay Reeb, United States Navy veteran. Musical selections will be performed by the band and choir made up of several classes of students. 
 
A recognition of veterans will be read by student council president, Rhyanna Rudebusch. The color guard will be presented by the Drake Sorbel Legion Post #64.
