Safety Campaign
As summer kicks off and the roadways become busier, Jake Folk, the school resource officer with the Milbank Police Department, reminds motorists to Click It or Ticket as part of the national safety campaign.
The national seat belt campaign will take place beginning Monday, May 22, and continuing through Sunday, June 4. The timeframe is concurrent with one of the busiest travel and holiday weekends of the year, Memorial Day weekend.
During this time, the Milbank police officers, along with law enforcement across the nation, will step up enforcement on motorists who are not wearing their seat belts. “Taking a couple of seconds to properly buckle up can reduce the risk of serious injury or death if you are involved in a crash,” Folk noted. “If you’re not buckling up for your own safety, buckle up for your loved ones. Remember, Click It or Ticket - every trip – day and night.”
