Milbank City ­­Council Proceedings • October 26, 2020 Special Meeting

October 26, 2020

PURSUANT TO DUE CALL AND NOTICE THEREOF, a regular meeting of the City Council was duly held via teleconference at 6:30 PM.  The following members were present: Mayor Pat Raffety, Councilmen Steve Wiener, Mike Hanson, Joel Foster, James Johnson, Josh Karels, and Scott Hoeke. Absent: none.  Present from the staff: Attorney Mark Reedstrom, John Forman, Boyd VanVooren, Cynthia Schumacher, Darin Thiele, Scott Meyer and Ron Krause.  Public present: Holli Seehafer.

Mayor Raffety called the meeting to order, and the roll call was taken.

Motion was made and seconded to authorize the Mayor to sign the settlement agreement and release between David Mogard and the City of Milbank in the amount of $82,000.  Motion carried 5-1, Councilman Wiener voting against.

Motion was made and seconded to approve the following employee hires.  Selena Evenson - Visitor Center Custodian, effective 11/2/2020 – part-time, $10.00/hr.  Approve hiring Randy Folk – Rubble Site Attendant, effective 12/7/2020 – part-time, $10.00/hr. Approve hiring Marlin Fenner – Rubble Site Attendant, effective 10/29/2020 – part-time, $10.00 hr.  Motion carried 6-0.

A motion was made and seconded to go into Executive Session.  The Mayor called the Council out of Executive Session.

Adjourn –The next regular meeting will be November 9, 2020, at 7:00 PM.  A motion was made and seconded to adjourn.  Motion carried 6-0.
