May 12 is Date for Next
Free Food Giveaway Here

The Grant County 4-H grounds will be the site for the next free food giveaway on Wednesday, May 12, from 4 to 5 p.m. The location will be at the Grant County 4-H grounds.
Anyone who feels they are in need is welcome to receive the food, as there are no income requirements. The free food giveaway is coordinated by members of the Grant County Christian Service Council with assistance from Feeding South Dakota.
The free food giveaway will be conducted as a drive-through event. The food will already be boxed and again comes from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)  Farmers to Families Program.
Those who wish to pick up food and milk will enter the 4-H grounds parking lot and receive further traffic flow instructions. To minimize contact and comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, organizers ask that recipients open the trunks or back liftgates of their vehicles once they are in line, and volunteers will place the boxes in the vehicles. It is essential that an open area be ready inside the vehicle to receive the box, so traffic flow is not impeded.
There will be a limit of one set of boxes per family and no more than two sets of boxes per vehicle. Those picking up for two families must provide their own name plus the name of the other recipient.
As with previous giveaways, those who are physically unable to attend can call the ICAP office at 432-6571 to make arrangements for someone else to pick up their food. Delivery is no longer an option.
Volunteers to work the event are always needed, and anyone is welcome to assist. If interested in working, text or call Brenda Maass at 605-880-7176 .
The Grant County Christian Service Council accepts donations that can be mailed to 210 E. 5th Ave., Milbank SD 57252.
