Friends of the Library Week
Friends of the Grant County Public Library will be observing National Friends of the Library Week October 17-22. The local, non-profit organization began in 2011. “It’s a great organization to be involved in to show your appreciation for your local library,” said Tammy Wollschlager, interim library director.
The group encourages and promotes community participation, shows support for the activities and programs of the library, and in turn assists in the library's growth and development. Individuals can be part of the organization through membership, donations and volunteerism.
The Friends of the Library will meet on Monday, October 17, at 5 p.m. at the library. Anyone interested in finding out more about the organization is invited to attend.
The Friends of the Library will host family bingo on Wednesday, October 19, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. School is dismissing early that day. Parents and children are invited to join in on the fun and vie for the prizes to be given away.
