Learn How to Save Garden Seeds at Library Program

The Grant County Public Library in Milbank will host a session on how to properly save seeds on Tuesday, September 20, at 2 p.m. Bruce Johnson and Jody Carlson will lead the question and answer time.
Garden harvest is in full swing, and it is time to think about saving seeds for next spring. The presenters will teach attendees how to properly harvest, dry and store seeds. Envelopes will be provided for storing seeds.
The library continues to build its Seed Library, and those who planted heirloom seeds from the spring Seed Library are encouraged to return seeds to the library to help keep the seed library sustainable.
No registration is necessary to attend this informational session.
Seed saving is something people have done for many years. Growing and saving your own seeds will develop seed stock that is well suited to your climate and save money.
The library has a wide selection of gardening and seed saving books available for checkout. The Seed Library also has a variety of gardening tools available for checkout.
