Holy Week Worship Services Scheduled at Area Churches
Special church services are scheduled at local churches for Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
Maundy Thursday is April 6. Many churches will meet in the evening for services with Holy Communion. In Milbank, Valley Baptist Church will conduct a seder at 6 p.m., American Lutheran Church will have a service at 6:30 p.m, Living Word Lutheran will meet at 6:30 p.m., Central Church will have a 7 p.m. service, Emanuel Lutheran will meet at 7 p.m. and St. Lawrence Catholic Church will observe Holy Thursday with adoration from 7 p.m. until midnight.
In Summit, St. John’s will conduct a 5:30 p.m. service.
In Big Stone City, Tabor United Methodist will host a joint service at 7 p.m. with First Lutheran Church at Tabor.
In Corona, Trinity Lutheran Church will host a joint service with Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.
In Revillo, St. John’s Lutheran will host a joint service with Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
In Strandburg, Tabor Lutheran will have a 7 p.m. service.
Good Friday is April 7. Area services are planned in the afternoon and evening. In Milbank, Emanuel Lutheran will have services at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Living Word Lutheran will meet at 6 p.m., American Lutheran will meet at 6:30 p.m., Bethlehem Lutheran will host a joint service with St. John’s Lutheran at 7 p.m., Parkview Methodist will host a combined service with Central Church at 7 p.m. and Peace Lutheran will gather at 7 p.m. At St. Lawrence Catholic Church, there will be Living Stations of the Cross at 2:15 p.m. and services at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
In Revillo, Trinity Lutheran will host a joint service with Tabor Lutheran and Zoar Lutheran at 7 p.m.
In Wilmot, St. Mary’s Catholic Church will gather at noon, and Our Savior’s Lutheran will host a joint service with Trinity Lutheran at 7 p.m.
Holy Saturday, April 8, will be observed by some area churches. In Milbank, Emanuel Lutheran will conduct an Easter vigil at 7 p.m. and St. Lawrence Catholic Church will meet at 8 p.m.
Easter Sunday is April 9. Information about regularly scheduled Sunday service times and locations are available elsewhere in this issue.
Many churches will have additional early morning services to celebrate the holiday. Local churches conducting additional sunrise services include Emanuel Lutheran at 6:30 a.m. in Milbank, Central Church at 7 a.m. in Milbank, St. John’s Lutheran at 7 a.m. in Summit and St. John’s Lutheran at 7 a.m. in Revillo.
Several churches will host Sunday breakfasts. They include Central Church at 8 a.m. in Milbank, Emanuel Lutheran at 8 a.m. in Milbank, Tabor Lutheran at 8 a.m. in Strandburg, Living Word Lutheran at 8:30 a.m. in Milbank and Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 8:30 a.m. in Milbank. A breakfast will follow the 7 a.m. service at St. John’s Lutheran in Revillo.
