Grant County Courthouse Seeks Festival of Trees Participants
The Grant County Courthouse staff is celebrating the 30th annual Festival of Trees. Businesses and non-profit organizations are encouraged to fill the foyers with decorated Christmas trees.
“The purpose of Festival of Trees is for community organizations to showcase the opportunities they provide and/or collect items for local charities,” says Sara Koepke, Grant County 4-H Youth Program Advisor and Festival of Trees coordinator. To participate, sign up for a tree spot by calling the SDSU Extension-Grant County 4-H office at 605-432-9221 by Thursday, November 18.
The trees must be placed by Wednesday, November 24, during regular courthouse hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The trees need to be removed by Monday, January 3. Participating trees must be artificial without lights and decorated in a theme of the organization’s choice. A sign with the organization’s name and theme must accompany the tree.
People’s choice award voting will continue this year throughout the holiday season. The top three voted trees will receive monetary prizes. Voting will begin December 1 and end December 30. Voting slips will be available on the first and second floor.
