December 29, 2022

The Grant County Commission met at 8:00 a.m. with Commissioners Buttke, Mach, Stengel, Street and Tostenson. Chairman Stengel called the meeting to order with a quorum present. Motion by Buttke and seconded by Street to approve the minutes of the December 20, 2022, meeting as presented. Motion carried 5-0. Minutes filed. Motion by Street and seconded by Tostenson to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

There were no members of the public present. Staff members present were States Attorney Schwandt and Deputy Auditor Folk.

Public Comment: Chairman Stengel called for public comment. There were no comments. Chairman Stengel closed the public comment.

2022 Year End: The Commission reviewed the year end financials. The following motions were made.

Contingency: Motion by Buttke and seconded by Street to approve the following year-end contingency transfers. Motion carried 5-0.

Capital Outlay Designation: Motion by Tostenson and seconded by Mach to approve the following list of capital designations for YE 2022. Motion carried 5-0. Capital Outlay Accumulations:

Allocation: Motion by Mach and seconded by Buttke to approve a $10,000 allocation to the Marvin Fire Department. Motion carried 5-0.

Travel: Motion by Mach and seconded by Tostenson to approve travel for EM Manager Kevin Schuelke to attend a Planning Section Course in Pierre. Motion carried 5-0.

2023 Holidays: Motion by Tostenson and seconded by Buttke to approve the 2023 holiday schedule as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

Surplus: Motion by Mach and seconded by Buttke to approve list of items declared surplus from various departments as items are outdated, broken or traded in for new equipment. Items declared surplus on file in Auditor’s office. Motion carried 5-0.

States Attorney: Jackson Schwandt requested permission to move his private practice two file cabinets to his office in the Courthouse as the building on Main St is being sold. Motion by Buttke and seconded by Street to approve Jackson’s private practice to be located in his courthouse office. Motion carried 5-0.

2022 Salary Resolution: Motion by Street and seconded by Buttke to approve the 2022 salary resolution as presented with moving Jennifer Waniorek to step 4 in the Deputy II wage scale. Motion carried 4-0. Resolution adopted.
