Grant County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sports to Begin
Grant County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sports Discipline to Kickoff
The Grant County 4-H Shooting Sports program will be offering a shotgun discipline this summer. Practices will be on Monday nights at the Whetstone Sportsmen trap range. This program is open to all area youth between the ages of eight to 18, as of January 1, 2020. Youth do not need to be an active 4-H member to participate.
“We are excited for the opportunity to hold our 4-H Shooting Sports shotgun program this summer,” says Sara Koepke, Grant County 4-H youth program advisor. “Collectively, we are working on logistics to ensure this is safe and successful for all participating.”
Registration is required by Friday, June 26. Contact the SDSU Extension-Grant County 4-H office to receive registration material by calling 432-9221 or email grant.county@sdstate.edu.
The Shooting Sports program includes safety education and target shooting. Practices will be conducted each week and continue into August. Youth have an opportunity to complete match postals to qualify for the state shoot in Mitchell September 7-8.
