GRANT COUNTY VOTERS headed to the polls for the 2022 general election on Tuesday, November 8, and voters in several local precincts were at the Milbank Visitor Center to cast their ballots. As of Monday, November 7, 804 Grant County voters, or 16.8 percent of the 4,773 active registered voters, had returned absentee ballots. Karen Layher, Grant County auditor, reported Tuesday morning that the in-person voting was going well locally. “I am very fortunate to have an excellent staff and dedicated precinct workers who ensure election day runs smoothly,” she said. Unofficial results will be posted at the South Dakota Secretary of State website https://electionresults.sd.gov/ beginning at 8 p.m. The official results of the election will be printed in the November 16 issue of the Grant County Review.
