Fraud and Scam Prevention Event

First Bank & Trust
Employees to Present
Scam Education Event

Staff members from First Bank & Trust’s fraud department will give a free presentation about preventing fraud and scams on Friday, November 22, at 2 p.m. at the Milbank Visitor Center. The event will include free pumpkin pie and coffee for those who attend.
Professionals in the banking community have become aware of the scams and solicitations for money that consumers have encountered from strangers and family members.  The First Bank & Trust management team wants the public to be aware of the practices that are happening and to keep open communication with those affected by fraud.  The event will be an opportunity for the bank staff to educate community members regarding what to look out for in an attempt to help prevent it from happening.
Organizers encourage the public to “bring a friend” and attend the important educational seminar. In addition, the public can also bring their papers and documents that need to be shredded. Dakota Shred will have bins available at the Milbank Visitor Center so the public can destroy materials with personal information printed on them to help avoid possible fraud.
