Fire Danger High
The extremely dry conditions coupled with strong west to northwest winds expected on Wednesday, October 14, prompted a warning from Kevin Schuelke, fire chief with Milbank Fire and Rescue. “These winds, combined with very dry grasses and crops, and low humidity levels, will result in very high to extreme fire danger,” Schuelke said. He urged county residents to use caution to prevent accidentally sparking a fire. “Rapid spread and eratic fire behavior are possible under these conditions.”
