Trick-or-Treaters’ Families
Several Milbank entities are hosting trick-or-treat options on Halloween, Monday, October 31, for families in the Milbank area.
The Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual treat street event on Main Street from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Area businesses and organizations will set up displays and candy galore.
The 29th annual Halloween treat stop, sponsored by the members of the Milbank Fire and Rescue crew and their wives, will be staged at the fire hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Beginning at noon, the public is invited to donate goodies to be handed out to the children. Those who attend can enjoy the homemade snacks, meat, cheese, and hot and cold drinks. The costume contest will be judged at 7 p.m., with prizes awarded to the cutest, scariest and most original.
The residents and staff at Avantara and Wellshire Park Place invite families to trick-or-treat at the facilities from 4 to 5 p.m. Organizers report excitement that the event has returned to its pre-Covid format.
Darcie’s Home Care, an assisted living facility, invites trick-or-treaters to visit the residents who will be in the living room, ready with buckets of candy to hand out. Visitors to the event are asked to enter through the garage entrance between 4 and 7 p.m.
The Milbank Area Hospital Avera invites families to stop by the healthcare campus and take photos in the photo booth and enjoy the chance to pick up some tasty treats between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
