NOTICE AND CALL FOR BIDS­

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Milbank will receive competitive bids for the following hay ground lease:

Milbank Springs

SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 16 of

Twin Brooks Township, Grant County, South Dakota

Consisting of Thirty-Three Acres (33A).

Bidder must mow by September 15th of each year.

All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or cashier’s check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. Said security to be made payable to the City of Milbank and to be drawn on a state or national bank domiciled within the State of South Dakota.  Said security will be retained by the City of Milbank in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract when notified of the award.  

The bid is to be made on a “per acre” basis, cash rent for the total acreage.  The lease will be for the year 2023, 2024, 2025, with an option to renew for 2026.  Such renewal to be negotiated between the lessee and the City of Milbank. Negotiation and signed contract for the 2026 season shall be received by the second Monday of September 2025.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the City Offices, 1001 East Fourth Avenue, Milbank South Dakota.  Bids will be opened at that time.  Consideration of the bids will take place at the City Council meeting, November 14, 2022, 7:00 p.m.  

The City of Milbank reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any irregularities.
