Citizens Advised: Runoff water May Flood Roadways 2024
Recent rains have increased the possibility of roadways flooding as the water begins moving out of the hills toward the rivers and lake. As of early afternoon Tuesday, May 7, Kevin Schuelke, Grant County emergency management director, advises motorists to exercise caution and be aware of changing conditions.
The most recent rains that fell Monday evening and in the overnight hours were reported as .5 inch at Milbank, 1.5 inches at Stockholm and 2.3 inches at Marvin. “We ask motorists to be careful and aware of lowland and river flooding in the next few days,” Schuelke said. If barricades are placed, motorists are not to go around them.
