Children Share in Christmas Joy
The Christmas season was made merrier for 33 local children who participated in the annual Christmas with a Cop event in Milbank. Through a cooperative effort between the Fraternal Order of Police, Grant County Child Protection Team and the local ICAP office, the children were able to shop for presents to give their loved ones on Christmas.
The event was Wednesday, December 18, in the Milbank Mall where officers helped the youth with their shopping. The officers who volunteered to take part were from the Milbank Police Department, Grant County Sherriff’s office, South Dakota Highway Patrol and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.
After the children made their purchases, the presents were wrapped by members of Valley Queen’s Employees Helping Hands and other volunteers. The children were then able to enjoy a treat, compliments of Guadeloupe’s Restaurant.
Organizers are greatful to all who helped with the event.
