Activities Start Saturday
Students and staff members at St. Lawrence Catholic School in Milbank will begin a full schedule of activities for Catholic Schools Week. Community members will have the opportunity to join the activities.
The week begins on Saturday, January 27, with a 5 p.m. mass, followed by a 6 p.m. meal of barbecues and hot dogs. The evening will conclude with a dance DJ’ed by Father Brian Eckrich beginning at 7 p.m.
The community is invited to the school for soup day on Tuesday, January 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Each school day will feature a special theme and dress-up prompt. The lesson for Monday, January 29, is “No matter who you are ... trust God!” Students are invited to dress up for career day in homage to their future professional interests.
Tuesday, January 30, is USA Day. Students are invited to wear red, white and blue. The day’s lesson is, “No matter how you feel ... trust God!”
On Wednesday, January 31, students will dress up for senior citizen versus baby day. The day’s lesson is “No matter what people do ... trust God!”
The lesson for Thursday, February 1, is “No matter what happens ... trust God!” Students will dress up for camo vs. pink day.
Catholic Schools Week concludes on Friday, February 2. The day is themed “No matter where you are ... trust God!” Students will dress in their St. Lawrence wear for spirit day. Special activities include an all-school mass, the fifth grade band concert at 9:45 a.m., a movie and a Catholic Schools Week assembly in the gym.
