Boy Scouts POW/MIA Ceremony to be part of Veterans Day Event
 
The public is encouraged to honor the area veterans by attending the annual Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m. in the Milbank National Guard Armory. 
The program will include musical selections by the Milbank High School band and the St. Lawrence singers from second through sixth grades. 
Dennis Adelman, American Legion Post 9 commander, will serve as the emcee for the program which includes the posting of colors, pledge of allegiance, invocation and Veterans Day reading. This year’s event also includes the Boy Scouts salute to POW and MIA in a special ceremony. 
Father Gary DeRouchey will be the keynote speaker, and the VFW Post #3486 rifle squad will perform a tribute to fallen comrades. Taps will be performed by high school band members Yami Arano, Kaitlyn Schmitt, Sam Seffrood and Casey Yamaura. 
Members of the American Legion Post 9 and the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Post 3486 and the VFW Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 and the National Guard 740th Transportation Unit will participate in the program.
