The Big Stone City School District’s Board of Education met in a regular session on January 17, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the school board room/CEO office with the following members present or absent:
Officers and others present:
Christopher Folk, CEO/Business Manager, Janelle Huber, Principal, Laurie Maas, Community Member.
Meeting called to order by school board president Hillary Henrich at 6:07 p.m.
Roll call was taken with Sue Christensen, Alan Chrzanowski, Hillary Henrich, Amy VanLith and Sue Westermeyer present. Quorum established.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion by VanLith, seconded by Chrzanowski, to approve the proposed agenda. 5 votes yes. Motion Carried.
Community Input Session: Laurie Maas was present and had questions about the 2-year reorganizational plan.

Motion by Christensen, seconded by VanLith, to approve one make-up school day and waive one of the previous no school day. Comment(s): Communication will be sent out to parents on this subject. Lion e-learning bags are ready for the next weather event. 5 votes yes. Motion Carried.

• Next school board meeting(s): February 23, 2022 (regular meeting) at 6 p.m. in the board room/CEO office.

6:52 p.m., motion by Westermeyer, seconded by Chrzanowski, to enter into executive session pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(1) for Principal Evaluation. 5 votes yes. Motion Carried.
7:11 p.m., President Henrich declared out of executive session with no motion.
7:11 p.m., motion by Chrzanowski, seconded by Christensen, to enter into executive session pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(1) for CEO/Business Manager Evaluation. 5 votes yes. Motion Carried.
7:33 p.m., President Henrich declared out of executive session with no motion.
Motion by VanLith, seconded by Christensen, to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 PM. 5 votes yes. Motion Carried.
