Seeks Producer Input
The Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge in Odessa, MN, is seeking producer input on haying and grazing practices on the refuge at an in-person meeting on Tuesday, November 1. The meeting will take place at the refuge office, 44843 County Road 19, Odessa, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The purposes of the haying and grazing program are to aid in controlling invasive species, stimulate native prairie vegetation and promote plant diversity. Items of discussion include ways to improve the bidding process, brainstorm ways to expand compatible grazing on the refuge and encourage in-person dialogue between producers and new refuge management staff.
