Ag Producers Encouraged to Report Prevent Planting
Agricultural producers must complete crop acreage reports by the July 15 deadline to the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) to be eligible for most USDA programs. The 2024 acreage report maps are ready to be picked up at the Grant County FSA office by calling 605-432-6570 ext 2.
Producers will need to provide crop and crop type or variety, intended use of the crop, number of acres of the crop, planting date(s), producer shares, irrigation practice(s), and acreage prevented from planting, when applicable. Prevented planting acreage must be reported on form CCC-576, Notice of Loss, no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date as established by FSA and
USDA’s Risk Management Agency. The final date to report prevented planning for corn is June 10 and for soybeans is June 26.
