The Milbank Firechiefs baseball team was defeated 13-2 by the Alexandria Angels in the quarterfinals of the state Class B amateur baseball tournament in Mitchell on Thursday, August 15. The Firechiefs finished the season with a 13-7 overall record.
The Milbank Area Bulldog boys golf team opened its season in Volga at the Sioux Valley Invite Monday, August 19. The Bulldogs traveled to Madison to compete in the Madison Invite Tuesday, August 20. Results were not available at time of press.

PROUD of his first-ever 26-inch walleye, Ryan O’Farrell was fishing on Bitter Lake by Waubay on Tuesday, July 30, when he landed the fish. He was fishing with his parents, Lance and Melissa O’Farrell.
